 As mental health can carry a heavy stigma especially in rural communities, providing a firm foundation in the Willow Creek area encourages positive relationships, life skills education including but not limited to frugality competence and foundational community unity for years to come. CFPC provides an all-encompassing approach to mental wellness, including promoting physical health as well as research-based educational information to clients. From children 0-21 years of age and their families; both within the home and extended where applicable.. 

Cards For A Cause is a nonprofit organization created by two high school students. Our goal is to create community and spark happiness in times of stress and isolation, through cards. We are planning to involve senior homes, homeless shelters, front-line workers, and schools. Students from schools will be given the opportunity to write cards for the residents and workers of senior homes and homeless shelters and front-line workers. Students can leave their contact information for the possibility of receiving a card back.

Toggle Navigation Reaching Families is a humanitarian food outreach program that has been working hard to provide essential nutritional food hampers to Calgary and surrounding areas for over 12 years. We fill the gap in hunger for those who would otherwise fall through the cracks with other traditional Food Bank and Social Supports eligibility criteria.

The Calgary John Howard Society (CJHS) is a charity that reduces crime and makes Calgary communities safer by helping youth and adults make positive changes and move away from criminal behaviour. We do this by addressing the root causes of crime through housing, education, employment programs and support so that individuals have alternatives to breaking the law. CJHS is committed to restorative justice and an organizational environment that recognizes the dignity and worth of each person. CJHS values diversity and inclusion and welcomes qualified applicants from all walks of life.

We enrich and support the lives of children and adults with cerebral palsy and other disabilities through our programs and services. We also collaborate with other organizations to promote awareness, acceptance and understanding for persons with disabilities to live, learn and work in the community. The Cerebral Palsy Association in Alberta (CPAA) offers volunteer opportunities for one-time events, ongoing programs or office-based work. Volunteers play a fundamental role in the programs and services that we offer to our members and the community. Without volunteers, our weekly programs cannot run and there is an opportunity for individuals of all abilities to become volunteers. By volunteering with us, you are a positive representation of our organization in the office, the community and especially in the lives of other people. Volunteering with the CPAA is an opportunity to use your personal interests and skills towards creating a Life without Limits for individuals with cerebral palsy and other disabilities.

The Women’s Centre is a women-only space which provides services and referrals for all women, as well as a place where women can come and build community. We work with a unique peer model, where women are recognized as the experts in their own lives and volunteers work as women helping other women. We offer women referrals, basic needs assistance, peer support, and many other services. We provide an informal social space where women can come and meet with other women over a coffee or a snack. The Women’s Centre is also a place where women can learn about social issues and work for social change. In general, the Women’s Centre is a very busy and vibrant place to volunteer. Unless otherwise stated on a posting, our volunteer positions are open to women-identifying individuals who are 18 years old or older.

The Doorway's mission is making change possible by empowering people to take steps toward a sustainable future. Since 1988, The Doorway has provided an opportunity for young people (17-30 years old), who want to exit the streets, to build independent and sustainable lives in society through self-determination.  The Doorway uses a two-year planning process called MyPlan to support young people's self-determination in identifying and determining for themselves what they need to get off the streets. Through goal setting and speaking with volunteers, young people gain the knowledge to actively participate in the change they want to make in their lives.  Recently, The Doorway expanded to include street outreach and in-reach to other youth-serving organizations in order to connect with more youth.

The Alexandra Centre Society (ACS) was created as a registered charity in 1975. The Alexandra Centre, our building that we manage, has been at the heart and centre of the community since 1902 – and when threatened to be no more, brought our communities together to save a piece of our heritage. We are not a community centre, rather the center of our community. The ACS serves multiple communities and brings our communities together- rather than focus on one individual community alone. Bringing multiple communities together makes us stronger and allows for a larger reach in our City. The ACS helps support and strengthen our communities coming together and we offer resources beyond what local associations offer, and pickup the gaps where needed. We help engage more residents in matters that affect us all. We care for and protect a piece of Calgary’s history, while offering affordable spaces for essential services.
