YRES is a Charitable Not-for-Profit Organization that uses the help of community partners in order to carry out a variety of ever-expanding Educational Services. Our volunteers come from diverse cultural backgrounds and ethnicities. YRES has many opportunities for volunteers as we are always expanding our programs. These opportunities allow you to give back to your community but also develop industry leading skills in a professional environment.
Emma House is a non-profit in Calgary that provides programmed housing to pregnant women and youth who are experiencing homelessness. In 2018 alone, there were close to 3000 Calgarians experiencing homelessness. Emma House is proud to be 1 of 3 organizations in Calgary that work primarily with homeless pregnant women and youth.

At Emma House, we provide our residents with a safe family-like environment, 24/7 trauma-informed care, life skills training, nutritional food, all basic necessities for our moms and babies, as well as comprehensive wrap around services. Over the years, Emma House has helped over 170 women and their babies move out of vulnerability and into healthy and sustainable lives in community.

Calgary Heritage Housing (CHH) has been a steward of local Alberta seniors housing assets for nearly four decades. Our focus is on the seniors self-contained, independent living demographic. We manage nine government-owned, rent-subsidized apartment buildings and townhomes within Calgary. Our tenants value their independence. We know they also value quality, affordability, and a sense of personal safety and security. Our focus is on providing a secure and comfortable living environment.

L’Arche Calgary is a community, made up of five Group Homes in Calgary, a Supported Independent Living Program (SILP), and a Tamarack Day Program. L’Arche Calgary supports adults with intellectual disabilities. It is a place where people with and without intellectual disabilities share life in a community designed to bring out the best in everyone, physically, mentally, and spiritually. We celebrate the unique value of every person and recognize our need for one another.  We strive to make known the gifts of people with intellectual disabilities, by revealing them through mutually transforming relationships. We foster an environment in our community that responds to the changing needs of our members while being faithful to the core values of our founding story. In L'Arche, the beauty of a mutual relationship is exemplified every single day. We share our spirituality, pray with and for one another, welcome guests and neighbors, host family and friends, prepare and eat meals together, work together on daily chores, celebrate birthdays, holidays, and other milestones, and we even plan outings and go on vacations together. Life in L’Arche is lived and experienced together!
Cappuccino Theatre is dedicated to embracing innovative, creative, or new works in Calgary, while focusing on the unusual and unknown.
Ground Zero Theatre is a non-profit organization dedicated to producing contemporary theatre not seen in Calgary. Our mission is to develop and nurture home-grown talent in an environment where we bridge the gap between educational and professional theatre by combining established artists with up and coming artists.
Walking With Our Sisters Calgary is a grassroots group of Calgarians working together to bring the Art Installation and Ceremony to Calgary, happening April 29 to May 13, hosted in partnership at the Riddell Library and Learning Centre Mount Royal University.
The Chinook Country Historical Society is the local Chapter of the Historical Society. We are a group of people dedicated to promoting a greater understanding of Canadian and Alberta history in Chinook Country for people of all ages. Organized in 1958 and incorporated in 1993, the CCHS covers the region from Olds to Nanton and from the BC border to the Saskatchewan border.
Handsome Alice is an independent theatre company supporting women’s perspectives through creative narratives that fuse life with art. We are a catalyst for activating diverse voices through performances and events that empower both artists and the community.

To date, we've interviewed over 3,000 Canadians from every province and territory in almost 200 communities in our storymobiles (mobile recording studio on wheels); edited and posted hundreds of oral histories on our storymap; produced two seasons of a TV/web series for TVO; and, most recently, we were awarded Touring Artist of the Year from the Canadian Arts Presenting Association (CAPACOA).

EMMEDIA is an electronic media arts centre established in 1979 and incorporated as a non-profit society in 1983. Professionally managed and directed by practising artists, the Society responds to a broad community by offering affordable access to media art production tools, services, technical and educational support, and to an array of public exhibition programs. Our commitment to the media arts crosses a range of media and disciplines: audio, video, web-based art, independent film, animation, multimedia, performance and environments.
Today, EMMEDIA is a bridge within the arts community. Helping to meaningfully connect creators with equipment, resources, presentation spaces and studio workspace. We support artists of all disciplines and ages, supporting like-minded organizations through partnerships and collaborations to co-produce exhibitions, presentations, and publications. We are the go-to resource and diverse knowledge hub that shares our programming expertise, production equipment, gallery and presentation spaces, and technical skills to help our community realize their artistic visions.
Quest Theatre is an award-winning theatre for young audiences offering whimsical and intelligent professional touring productions as well as opportunities for young people to create their own theatre during week-long programs in schools across Alberta and drama camps in Calgary.
