CISV is an international, nonprofit, nondenominational organization called Children’s International Summer Villages (www.cisvcalgary.com), in which we promote peace through multicultural summer camps. Next July, our chapter will be hosting a summer camp called a Village. During this month, twelve delegations of 11 year olds along with their leaders from all over the world will live together while participating in activities to help build lasting international friendships and multicultural understanding. We are looking for volunteer staff to help run our program.

To laugh often and love much; to win the respect of intelligent persons and the affection of children, to earn the approbation of honest critics; to appreciate beauty; to give of one’s self, to leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child, a garden patch or a redeemed social condition; to have played and laughed with enthusiasm and sung with exultation; to know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived–that is to have succeeded.
Ralph Waldo Emerson
