3 Distinguished panelists discuss the current situation in Venezuela, with audience Q&A to follow. Tuesday April 29, 2014, 7pm at the ConocoPhillips Theatre, Glenbow Museum, 130 9th Ave SE. This event is free and open to the public. http://larc.ucalgary.ca/ Dr. Thomas Legler: Professor of International Relations, Universidad Iberoamericana, Mexico, who has published extensively on the promotion and defense of democracy in Latin America. Mr. Josué Ramírez: Executive Director, Venezuela Democracy Forum, who has worked for the National Electoral Board, as Chief of the Political Analysis Department and as a Diplomat-Alternate Representative of Venezuela to the Organization of American States in Washington, DC. Dr. Pablo Policzer: Professor in the Dept. of Political Science, University of Calgary, who holds the Canada Research Chair in Latin American politics and has published extensively on democracy, authoritarianism and human rights in the region.
