On behalf of the organizing committee of the First Annual Frank Eyck Memorial Lecture in German History we would like to extend to you an invitation to join us on the night of Thursday, April 17, 2014 at the Rozsa Centre, University of Calgary. We will be hosting Dr. Roger Chickering (Georgetown University), one of the world’s preeminent scholars on Germany and the First World War. Prof. Chickering’s lecture, which is entitled “Germany’s Peculiar War, 1914-1918,” will trace the course of the war and compare the German experience to other European nations. The Lecture Series is named in honour of the late historian and University of Calgary professor, Dr. Frank Eyck, and is intended to provide a forum to facilitate and promote the study of German history and culture. All are welcome to this FREE public lecture. For more information please contact Mikkel Dack (wmdack@ucalgary.ca) or Matt Bucholtz (mbucholt@ucalgary.ca). We hope to see you there!
