Standing Together: Pink Shirt Day in Calgary

Community

Tomorrow is Pink Shirt Day, a time for us to come together across AB to take a stand against bullying.

The idea started with a simple act of kindness—two students wearing pink to support a peer who was being bullied. Today, it has grown into a massive movement. Whether you are at school, at work, or out in the Southern Alberta community, wearing pink is a way to show that we choose kindness, empathy, and respect.

Why it Matters

Bullying can happen to anyone, and its effects can last a lifetime. By wearing pink, we send a clear message:

  • We support those who have been targeted.
  • We commit to being "upstanders" rather than bystanders.
  • We want to make our community a safer, more inclusive place for everyone.

Get Involved

If you don't have a pink shirt handy, any pink accessory—like a scarf, hat, or pin—works too! Let’s fill the streets of Calgary with pink tomorrow to show that we are united against bullying.

Quick Tip: If you're sharing photos of your team or family in pink tomorrow, feel free to use the hashtag #PinkShirtDay so others in AB can see the support!
