In 2016 the university marks its 50th anniversary as an autonomous institution. University Archives has created an exhibit in celebration of this milestone, which will be on display in the Arts and Culture suite from March 1 until mid-May. Entitled “This was then…” the exhibit unveils how much the university has changed over time by focusing on campus culture and the activities experienced by students, faculty and staff in the early days of autonomy, as well as the evolution of the University’s insignia and infrastructure. Featuring Campus Queens, frosh beanies, etiquette and wardrobe advice for the co-ed, powder-puff football, the spade, stake and soil from the first sod-turning on the “new” campus and more, this is campus life as you never knew it existed. We invite you to take a few minutes out of your busy day to travel back in time through our exhibit, on view in Arts and Culture, 5th floor, TFDL from 10:00-4:30 weekdays.

Location:

Arts and Culture Reception Area 5th Floor TFDL
