Eastern and Western philosophies to human movement have not been clearly delineated in the teaching of physical education teachers. Yet many aspects of both methods are used by teachers and coaches in practice. Understanding the advantages and disadvantages of the two approaches can provide insight for those involved in movement education, physical literacy and coaching. The speakers will highlight research using ‘learning how to throw’ as a model.
