Join us for a free screening of the film Girl Rising to find out how educating girls can change the world and learn how you can make a difference. Around the world, millions of girls face barriers to education that boys do not. And yet, when you educate a girl you can break cycles of poverty in just one generation. Girl Rising is a groundbreaking film that has already been seen by millions. It is also a movement for girls’ education that we would like to invite you to support. The guest speaker,The Venerable Metteyya Sakyaputta of the Karuna Girls’ College in Nepal, will share his perspective on how the success of girls is tied to a nation’s success. There will be the Nepali Market, craft sales featuring hand made items by Nepali women such as yoga mat bags, purses, pouches, and scarves, to support the Karuna Girls’ College.
