The presentation will review Professor Jim Gripton’s 60-year social work career, highlighting his innovative contributions to social work education and practice in Canada and beyond. Jim was an educator, researcher, clinician and activist. Special attention will be given to his 29 years at the University of Calgary. His contributions, developed over the course of his career, have had a lasting impact. The presentation will be illustrated with excerpts from the 2013 DVD, The Ideas Man This event is organized by the University of Calgary Emeritus Association and is sponsored by the Vice-President (University Relations). It is open to the community at no charge.
