A founding partner of Toronto-based KPMB Architects, Kuwabara is internationally recognized as one of Canada’s leading architects for a range of award-winning designs, including Canada’s National Ballet School, the Bell Lightbox for the Toronto International Film Festival, the Rotman School of Management and the LEED Platinum Manitoba Hydro Place in Winnipeg. Kuwabara’s public lecture, Every Building Implies a City: 9 Strategies for Future Cities, will present nine strategies and related examples to consider in shaping the world we want: Reimagining the Public Realm, New Hybrids, Vertical Campus, Transit-Oriented Development, Transforming Heritage, Intimate Monumentality, the City as a Metaphor, Climate-Responsive Architecture, and Precinct Planning.
