Please join the Women’s Resource Centre and the Q Centre for a film screening of “Cruel and Unusual”, a documentary about the experiences of trans women in prison. There will be a bake sale fundraiser for Jessica Marie Barbosa, a trans woman of colour, who is soon to be released from prison in Texas in the next few months. The fundraiser is to give her enough money to get back on her feet so she doesn’t have to go from one unsafe place (men’s prison) to another (a men’s shelter). The screening is free, but you can donate to the cause by purchasing baked goods that will be for sale.
