Come and celebrate German culture with us on the evening of October 3 in the Taylor Family Digital Library Gallery Hall. The program will feature a lecture on Germany’s post-unification drive towards becoming a country of immigration, as well as a film screening and reception. Dr. Oliver Schmidtke, a professor in the departments of history and political science at the University of Victoria, will discuss migration and multiculturalism in Germany. The lecture will be followed by the film Wir sind jung. Wir sind stark. / We Are Young. We Are Strong. Watch trailer. Entrance to this event is free and refreshments will be provided. Public parking is available in the Arts Parkade. Register for the event. This event is sponsored by University of Calgary International, Faculty of Arts, and the Honorary Consul General of the Federal Republic of Germany.
