Are you someone who likes to attend community events, talk to people and generate interest in a great cause? Look no further. The Volunteer Community Ambassador at Epilepsy Association of Calgary is a chance to put your talent to work to help improve the lives of people impacted by epilepsy. Role Description Working under the supervision of EAC’s Department of Development, the Volunteer Community Ambassador attends festivals, markets, community events and other public spaces on the Association’s behalf. The Volunteer Community Ambassador provides information on programs and services, generates interest in volunteering, helps in network building, and offers opportunities to support EAC financially. The Volunteer Community Ambassador requires flexibility since most of the scheduling will include weekend and evening events. Skills Needed People oriented – enjoys meeting and talking to others, someone who others would describe as having a warm and engaging personality Communication – excellent verbal communication skills Reliable – accountable, fulfills all scheduled commitments Mature – adheres to policy and procedure, understands limits with regards to speaking on the Association’s behalf and maintains appropriate professional boundaries when engaging with members of the public Training Provided EAC Volunteer Orientation Role-specific orientation and training Rewards and Returns As the public face of Epilepsy Association of Calgary at public events, the Ambassador is seen as a credible source of information. After two years of pandemic-related social distancing, a chance to get out and attend more community events filled with families, entertainment, vendors, and much more! A chance to learn more about epilepsy and the supports available in the community that help people live well following a life-altering diagnosis
