The Organization Shelter Movers is a national, volunteer-powered charitable organization providing moving and storage services at no cost to individuals and families fleeing abuse. We collaborate with local businesses and community agencies to support people, primarily women and children, as they transition to a life free of violence. Volunteering at Shelter Movers means contributing to a mission that will make a meaningful impact on families experiencing abuse and supporting survivors as they transition to a life free of violence. It also means playing a role in ending gender-based violence. We are growing and looking to add caring, compassionate, and dependable people to our team. The Role The Newsletter Coordinator will be well-versed in using Mailchimp, creating and scheduling email campaigns that go out to donors and volunteers. Main responsibilities include working closely with the graphic designer and the writer to organize and create contents, as well as maintaining the mailchimp subscribers’ database and analytics reports. The Newsletter Coordinator should also have the basic knowledge of design and copywriting skills for standalone tasks. Responsibilities and Accountabilities Come up with ideas for content to promote Shelter Movers Calgary and its mission Project manage the monthly / bi-monthly volunteer newsletter Work close with other functions such as volunteer services, operations, fund development and the local executive team to put together content that reflects the whole of Shelter Movers Calgary  Work with local graphic designer and writer to create content  Run mailchimp analytics reports on the newsletter and report finding to Marketing Manager Design graphics and create copyright as needed  Skills and Qualifications Self-driven and innovative Solid time-management skills Strong understanding of Mailchimp is an asset  Excellent writing and editing skills, with a keen eye for detail Knowledge of graphic design collaborative tools i.e. Canva  The ability to ensure brand consistency Project management experience is an asset Strong interest in the Gender Based Violence (GBV) sector Ability to maintain a voice that is supportive, approachable, anti-racist, anti-oppressive, and inclusive in all areas of communication The ability to prioritize tasks and shift priorities as necessary Role Details Approximately 3-5 hours a week.
