Opportunity Description:

Primary Responsibilities: Set up program room for horticulture class, including setting up tables, tarps and gathering necessary supplies Communicate with horticulture therapist regarding lesson plan and assist them with tasks Assist horticulture therapist with overall facilitation of the classes Assist with clean up, including dish washing from group snack Provide support and instill confidence in the participants, helping them with planting, harvesting, watering, chopping, and helping with group snack Communicate with Program Coordinator regarding schedule and any advanced notice of absence Offer support, suggestions and interact with new volunteers Must follow all safety rules and safe work practices. Provide current police /child Intervention check every year Maintains confidentiality of all CPAA documents and information.   Expectations, Qualifications and Skills: Interest in or willingness to learn about horticulture Must be dependable and punctual Be self-directed, willing to take initiative Ability to work with a diverse population. Must have good communication skills. Must have good decision making skills.   Commitment: Wednesdays: 12:30-3:30pm   Physical Demands: The employee is required to use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; frequent talking and hearing, and use of close, distance, color, and peripheral vision and depth perception; frequent standing, sitting, walking, and the ability to reach with hands and arms; occasional overhead reaching and kneeling, twisting, bending, stooping; occasional ability to lift and/or move up to fifty pounds.
