Opportunity Description:

Primary Responsibilities: Instruct participants in making a small art project. Create a lesson plan and idea for a class of up to 12 people. Set up art supplies. Actively engage with the participants and assist them with their projects Adapt to the different learning styles of members and accommodating to their needs through demonstrations and examples when necessary Document inventory of art supplies in the cupboards. Creatively use present art supplies and repurposed items when possible. Communicate with Program Coordinator to purchase new items. Communicate with Program Coordinator regarding schedule and any advanced notice of absence. Offer support, suggestions and interact with new volunteers. Must follow all safety rules and safe work practices. Provide current police check every year. Note: group members are adults and are providing and scheduling their own rides. You are not responsible to wait with them for their transportation or give them a ride home.   Expectations, Qualifications and Skills: Able to engage positively with participants. Must be dependable and punctual. Be self-directed, willing to take initiative. Ability to work with a diverse population. Must have good communication skills. Must have good decision-making skills. Commitment: Thursdays: 9:15-11:30am   Physical Demands: The employee is required to use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; frequent talking and hearing, and use of close, distance, color, and peripheral vision and depth perception; frequent standing, sitting, walking, and the ability to reach with hands and arms; occasional overhead reaching and kneeling, twisting, bending, stooping; occasional ability to lift and/or move up to twenty pounds.
