Opportunity Description:

This role involves a high degree of interaction with the general public paired with assisting donors with donation drop offs, and placing items in the donation centre. Specific training regarding the organization of donations will be provided. Our Attended Donation Stations are located OUTDOORS, in various locations across the city. You will be given the exact address for your ADS station once you are confirmed to volunteer. Primary Responsibilities: • Open and close Attended Donation Station (ADS) every workday. • Empty donation bin into ADS and organize and pack donations to be transported. • Keep parking lot, ADS area (inside and outside) and work area neat and clean. • Greet customers/donors and assist them in unloading donations from their vehicles. • Promote ADS in order to increase donations. • Ability to work independently with minimum supervision. • Communicate with ADS Coordinator regarding any issues or problems • Must follow all safety rules and safe work practices. • Maintains confidentiality of all CPAA documents and information. • Works a variety of shifts, including weekends, and in all types of weather • Other duties as assigned. Expectations, Qualifications and Skills: • Ability to work with a diverse population. • Must be able to read and write English. • Must have good communication skills. • Must have good decision making skills. • Must be able to work independently. Physical Demands: The employee is required to use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; frequent talking and hearing, and use of close, distance, color, and peripheral vision and depth perception; frequent standing, sitting, walking, and the ability to reach with hands and arms; occasional overhead reaching and kneeling, twisting, bending, stooping; frequent ability to lift and/or move up to fifty pounds.
